Is that all you do?

So being a stay at home mom has its perks. First, I get to spend special time with my kids and witness all the milestones they go through. Second, I get the freedom to take the kids to fun places, go visit my friends and family in so cal, and have great playdates with other kids and their mommies. Of course there's the other stuff I do as a stay at home mom. Cooking, cleaning (although my husband would argue that one), taking care of the kids (obviously), chauffeur, doctors appts, errand running, grocery shopping, game player, toy fixer, and of course master poop changer (because WHO wouldn't want that title?). You do get the few people who think that your stay at home mom "job" is super easy and that I get to sleep in, lounge around all day (of course in my sweats! See previous entry), eat bon bons, watch soaps and occassionally pay attention to my children. Of course, these ideas come from people who do not have kids nor do they know that a 3 year old does not allow you any quiet time, bathroom break, or time to do anything for that matter. Oh and between his tantrums and opinionated "NO'S!", trying to keep my sanity should be on my list of daily tasks. So, word of advice - if you know someone who is a stay at home mom, cut her a little slack. She has a lot on her plate and she's not just spneding her days watching soaps!
